The goal of the project is to develop a software-based decision support system for a diagnostician based on a comprehensive analysis of medical images and structured clinical data of the patient.
It is assumed that the software system will provide automated processing of medical images of various modalities (ultrasound, radiography, CT, MRI) using computer vision and machine learning methods, as well as their comparison with symptomatic signs and electronic patient card data.Based on the integrated analysis of these sources of information, the system will form a list of the most probable diagnostic hypotheses or clinically significant signs that require additional attention, with justification relevant for further decision-making by a doctor.
The application of the developed system should make it possible to increase the completeness of taking into account diagnostically significant information, reduce the risk of missing clinically important signs and ensure greater consistency of decisions made through systematic analysis of data, while the final decision on the diagnosis and treatment tactics will remain solely the prerogative of the physician.
The system is designed as an interdisciplinary solution, suitable for use within a wide range of areas of clinical medicine that require a comprehensive analysis of medical images and related clinical information.
Students and graduate students of the department take part in the implementation of the project.
