Types of scholarships for department applicants

Academic Scholarship

It is assigned to full-time students who, according to the results of the final semester control, received an average score not lower than the one established by the university for the corresponding year of study. The amount is in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, with reference to the subsistence minimum. KNU pays scholarships in accordance with state standards.

As of June 2026, CMU Resolution No.1047 "On the amount of scholarships in state and municipal educational institutions, scientific institutions" is in force. It states that from September 1, 2026 the amount of scholarships will be changed on the basis of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No.314-2026-p.

According to official reports of the government on the implementation of these changes:

  • minimum academic scholarship for Hei students will increase from UAH 2,000 to UAH 4,000 per month from September 1, 2026;
  • separate nominal and government scholarships are also doubled.

Increased Academic Scholarship

It is assigned to applicants with the highest academic performance. The number of increased scholarships is limited — approximately 10% of the total number of scholarship holders.

Domestic Bursary

It is assigned to applicants from preferential categories: orphans, persons from low-income families, persons with disabilities, combatants and children of combatants. Appointed on the basis of supporting documents, regardless of academic results.

Corporate scholarships from partner companies

SoftServe, EPAM, GlobalLogic and other partners of the department periodically announce own scholarship programs for applicants of the specialty 121 Software Engineering. Information about open programs is published in the Telegram channel of the department and is brought to the attention of students through the elders of the groups.

How to get a scholarship

Academic scholarship is awarded automatic based on the results of the semester rating.

For social and registered scholarships, you need to submit the following documents:

  1. Application addressed to the rector (form in the dean's office of fit)
  2. Supporting documents (for preferential categories)
  3. Extract from the credit book for the last semester
  4. Characteristics from the curator (for nominal scholarships)
