01 Design of the educational program

1.1. The educational program makes it possible to achieve learning outcomes defined by the standard of higher education
Educational program "Software Engineering" — Master is built according to the standard of higher education in the specialty 121 "Software Engineering". Programme learning outcomes meet the requirements of the National Qualifications Framework for the relevant qualification level.

The purpose of the program is to train specialists in the field of software engineering at the Master's level, coordinated with the mission of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The program is formed in constant dialogue with stakeholders: employers (SoftServe, EPAM, ELEKS, Antonov SE), graduates, and the academic community. Regular meetings and surveys are held.

The program takes into account the trends of IoT, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The development takes into account the experience of Le Mans Université, universities in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany (Erasmus+).
02 Structure and content of the SOLAR program

2.1. The amount of EP in ECTS credits meets the requirements of the legislation
The program scope is 90 ECTS credits, duration is 1.5 years. This is in accordance with the Regulation on the organization of the educational process of the KNU and the Law "On Higher Education".

2.2. The content of the EP has a clear structure; the components form a logical system
Structure: general training → professional training → selective blocks → practice → certification. Each discipline is logically related to the previous ones.

2.3. The content of the EP corresponds to the subject area of the specialty
The content corresponds to the field of knowledge 12 «Information Technology», the subject area is software engineering, which includes the software life cycle, methodologies, tools and platforms.

2.4. The structure provides for an individual educational trajectory through the choice of disciplines
Two lists of elective disciplines: "Programming of intelligent systems", "Programming of computer vision", "Quantum programming".

2.5. EP provides for practical training of applicants
Pre-graduation practice focused on future qualification work. Performed in partner companies or at the department.

2.6. EP involves the acquisition of social skills
In the program of the discipline «English», soft skills, teamwork on coursework and diploma projects, presentation skills.

2.7. The scope of individual educational components complies with the legislation
Each discipline has 3 to 6 ECTS credits depending on the amount of material and complexity.

03 Access and recognition of learning outcomes

3.1. Admission rules — clear, non-discriminatory, published
The admission rules are developed in accordance with the Terms of Admission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, published on the official websites of the KNU and the department.

A professional test is provided. For applicants from related specialties, an additional entrance test is provided.

3.3. Recognition of learning outcomes obtained in other EPs (in particular in academic mobility)
The University recognizes the results of academic mobility within the framework of Erasmus+. Agreements have been concluded with universities in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and France.

The department employs a Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, an academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, doctors and candidates of technical sciences, associate professors and professors.
