Студент першого курсу нашої кафедри Фояк Віталій Мирославович переміг у ІІ етапі Всеукраїнської студентської олімпіади «Відкрита індивідуальна першість Львівського університету з програмування LNU Open 2026»
On May 15–17, 2026, the final of the second round of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad «Open Individual Championship of Lviv University in Programming LNU Open» was held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. This year, the traditional intellectual competition for the first time reached the all-Ukrainian level, uniting talented student youth from different regions of Ukraine.
Vasyl Biletskyi, Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics of Lviv University, Head of the Algotester community, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He told about the history of the Olympiad, which begins in 2018. During the first years, the competition was mainly local in nature and gathered participants mostly from Lviv higher education institutions.However, in 2026, the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics took the opportunity to initiate the Olympiad in an all-Ukrainian format.
The scale of the competition showed the high interest of students in algorithmic programming: almost 300 students from more than 50 universities in different regions of Ukraine took part in the online selection round. According to the results of the selection, 47 participants representing 24 higher education institutions from 14 oblasts were selected for the final.
The finalists were also addressed by the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Professor Ivan Diyak. He thanked the students for participating in the competition despite the challenges of wartime, the intensive training load and the approaching session.
«You are here to demonstrate your capabilities as future advanced participants in the digitalization of our country. I wish you successful solutions, algorithms that will work correctly, and success in this serious test,» said Professor Ivan Diyak.
The Dean also thanked the partners of the event: the general partner — Solidgate, as well as the gold partners — SoftServe and Leobit. The main round of the competition was held on the Algotester platform, which provided technical support for the Olympiad.
