Psychological and social support
The period of study at the university can be difficult — academic pressure, difficult family situation, health condition, war or forced displacement. The department and the university have created a support network that can be accessed at any time.
Psychological Service of KNU
The Psychological Service of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv provides free psychological assistance to applicants:
- Individual consultations with a psychologist
- Group trainings (adaptation, stress management, relations with classmates)
- Crisis psychological assistance
- Support for Applicants in Difficult Life Circumstances
Group Curator
Curator — a teacher of the department who accompanies the group during the training and is the first point of contact on academic and organizational issues. If the situation is personal, the curator can help to find the right specialist or adjust the academic load.
Social support
The Social Department of the fit Dean's Office takes care of applicants in difficult social circumstances. Assistance includes:
- Registration of social scholarship and financial assistance
- Support in resolving housing issues
- Help with documentation for preferential categories
- Liaison with university and external support funds
Support for combatant applicants
For applicants who have completed military service or are participants in hostilities, the following is provided:
- Flexible class attendance schedule
- Individualized learning plan if needed
- Social scholarship regardless of academic performance
- Psychological support with a focus on PTSD and adaptation
- Exemption from dormitory fees
Support for internally displaced applicants
For internally displaced applicants, a support package is provided:
- Priority Dormitory Settlement
- Domestic Bursary
- Document Recovery Assistance
- Psychosocial support
